STUDENT COUNCIL OF THE PROFESSIONAL COLLEGE AT THE KHARKIV INSTITUTE PJSC "HEI "IAPM"

The Student Council of the Professional College at the Kharkiv Institute is a student self-government body that carries out independent public activities of students and has the right to independently resolve issues of internal management of the College, which is determined by them and carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives facing student groups.

Main tasks of the Student Council of the Professional College at the Kharkiv Institute of IAPM

  • to protect the rights and interests of students studying at the institute;
  • to ensure that students fulfill their duties;
  • supporting the educational, scientific and creative activities of students;
  • promoting the improvement of living and recreational conditions for students;
  • promoting the creation of various student circles, societies, associations, and clubs based on interests and coordinating their activities;
  • with semi-cooperation with student self-government bodies of other higher educational institutions.

Responsibilities of Student Council members :

  • project work that may interest College students.
  • Prompt response to events that may be important for the life of the educational institution.
  • Carrying out their activities in the interests of those who elected the student council.
  • Taking active participation in the work of strike committees when there is a threat of violation of the rights of students of the institute.
  • Protection of violated student rights in court hearings.
  • Facilitating the resolution of controversial issues that may arise in the work of the student council.
  • Ensuring constructive cooperation between the administration of the educational institution and students.

Student self-government bodies have the right to:

  • receive from the administration advisory support and information necessary to perform their tasks;
  • to submit proposals, statements, and petitions to the administration of the appropriate level and student self-government bodies of all levels regarding issues within the scope of authority of this body, and to receive answers to the issues raised;
  • to conduct a constructive dialogue with the administration of the higher educational institution regarding the actions of officials, heads of structural units, and student self-government bodies if they violate the rights of Students, to file complaints about their actions in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Citizens’ Appeals”, to demand a response to the complaint in accordance with current legislation.

Student self-government bodies are obliged to:

  • ensure compliance with the rights and interests of Students, facilitate the fulfillment of their duties by Students;
  • raise Student issues with the College administration;
  • report to the student community at the appropriate level about their activities;
  • to promote the development and improvement of student self-government;
  • coordinate their activities at the higher education institution with other student associations, centers, etc.;
  • to coordinate, in accordance with the established procedure, amendments and supplements to the Regulations on Student Self-Government and other issues that require consideration at meetings of collegial and working bodies of the higher educational institution .

The highest body of student self-government is the general meeting (conference) of persons studying at a higher educational institution and who:

  • They praise the Regulations on Student Self-Government;
  • o elect executive bodies of student self-government and hear their reports;
  • They determine the structure, powers and procedure for electing executive bodies of student self-government.

Head of the executive body of student self-government:

  • organizes the work and is responsible for the effectiveness of the executive body of student self-government;
  • represents the interests of the student community;
  • may participate in the work of other collegial, working bodies and commissions of a higher educational institution;
  • delegates his/her powers to a deputy;
  • ensures the organization of a general meeting or conference of Students in ;
  • initiates holding of extraordinary general meetings or conferences;
  • has the right to receive the necessary information from the administration and student self-government bodies to carry out its activities;
  • has other rights and obligations stipulated by the Regulations on Student Self-Government at a higher educational institution.

Secretary of the executive body of student self-government keeps minutes of meetings, keeps records of the implementation of decisions, and is responsible for document flow.

The chairman and secretary of the executive body of the student government are responsible for preserving the documentation of the student government body.

The Student Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) provides qualified assistance in resolving student problems, protects the rights and interests of students, and interacts with the governing bodies and other officials of the Academy, Institute, and College.
